Looking at the Top Medicare Supplement Plans
While Medicare can be a great service, there are many times when you need to find supplemental plans that can cover the gaps that would otherwise exist if you tried to rely on Medicare and Medicare alone. While this can be intimidating, the good news is that there are several good options when look at the top Medicare supplement plans on the market.
Medicare Supplement Plan F: This is generally considered the overall best supplement as it tends to cover the majority of normal out of pocket items and has a pretty good balance of coverage at a reasonable premium rate. One downside: if you don’t already qualify the doors will be shutting on new enrollees.
Plan G: This is generally seen as the “replacement” to Plan F for new enrollees and still one of the better overall options when it comes to a supplement plan. This provides the most coverage for new seniors and while it does offer solid coverage it is also one of the pricier options.
Plan K: When budget is a really big deal you’ll want to look at Plan K. It doesn’t have the highest rate of coverage compared to some of the other options but it is inexpensive compared to the others and still offers some additional coverage including an option for “gap coverage” if you find yourself in an “in-between” situation from where you are to when you qualify for full coverage.
Plan N: Plan N is a solid supplemental plan that has a little bit of the good factors of many of the other popular options. It’s not the best at coverage, but it’s very good. It’s not the cheapest, but it is affordable. A solid choice if you feel flummoxed by everything else.
